Loving My Pain Free Life

My name is Melinda Johnson and I suffered with foot pain for many years. I went to see a podiatrist and after an examination, I was told that I had heel spur syndrome. I followed the recommendations of my doctor by doing at home treatments along with physical therapy. I was amazed at how much these treatments helped my foot pain. Living with pain can have a big impact on your life and that's why I started this blog. My foot pain kept me from doing many things that I enjoy and I want to help others who are going through the same situation. As you browse through my blog, you'll learn about home treatments, medical procedures and new advancements in medicine that can help reduce pain. It is my hope that by writing this blog, you can live pain free too.

Coolsculpting 101: Tips For After Your Treatment

Claire Roberts

If you've decided to pursue coolsculpting to address some of the fat deposits that you're struggling with, it's important that you know how to make the most of your recovery time as well. The key is to make sure you're maximizing your recovery to get the optimal benefit from the treatment. Here are some of the things that you should know about the days and weeks after your coolsculpting treatment.

Bring Compression Wear To Your Appointment

When you go to your coolsculpting appointment, bring compression wear with you. That way, you can put it on before you leave the office. The goal of compression wear is to help moderate any swelling or inflammation. Just make sure that you choose something that isn't going to result in a seam putting pressure on the treatment area. That can cause discomfort. Ideally, you want something that will fully cover the treatment area. Stick with the compression wear for at least several days after the procedure. You can even sleep in it if it's more comfortable for you because the added support can help.

Opt For Loose Clothing

For a week or two after your procedure, you'll want to wear clothing that fits loosely, moves well, and breathes. This ensures that you don't have anything pinching or putting pressure on the treatment area, which can cause irritation, inflammation, and pain. Stay comfortable and minimize your discomfort with free-flowing, loose clothing for a couple of weeks to get the best results.

Take The Right Medications

Steer clear of anti-inflammatory medication in the days after your procedure. Instead, use acetaminophen if you need something for pain relief. In addition, you may feel some itching in the treatment area. If you do, an antihistamine is the most effective treatment option. Over-the-counter oral antihistamines can help ease any itching that you might feel.

Prioritize Hydration

In the days before your coolsculpting treatment, and for a couple of weeks afterward, make sure you prioritize your hydration. Drink plenty of water consistently every day to help your body flush out your lymphatic system. This will help you to remove fat cells faster and more effectively.

These are some of the things that you should know to get the best possible results from your coolsculpting process. Talk with a practitioner near you today for more information and to see if you might be an ideal candidate for this treatment. That way, you can address those stubborn fat deposits in your body.
